Bachelor of Commerce The Bachelor of Commerce degree is designed to provide students with a wide range of managerial skills, while at the same time building competence in a particular area of business (see below). Most universities therefore, plan the degree such that in addition to their major, students are exposed to general business principles, taking courses in accounting, finance, business management, human resources, (business) statistics, marketing, and economics; some programs also require (introductory) calculus and information systems. For a comparison with other business degrees, see Business Education.

Bachelor of ScienceWhether a student of a particular subject is awarded a Bachelor of Science degree or a Bachelor of Arts degree can vary between universities. For one example, an economics degree may be given as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) by one university but as a B.Sc. by another, and some universities offer the choice of either.[2] Some liberal arts colleges in the United States offer only the BA, even in the natural sciences,[3] while some universities offer only the BS even in non-science fields.
